"The Continuous Maintenance Improvement Program by ESS is great! It allows all our employees – management, production operators, and supervisors – an efficient way to communicate work orders to our maintenance staff. Continuous Maintenance Improvement also allows us to manage preventive maintenance & utilise our technical resouces and assets in a more effective way. Our plant wouldn’t run as well without it”. Lawrence Kiernan, Manufacturing Manager, Imperial Tobacco Mullingar

ESS has for a number of year worked with our Engineering staff providing 3 key services: 1.Installation and maintenance of a robust and forward planning Preventative maintenance system that has contributed significantly to a consistent lift in operational performance across all packaging lines.
2. Installation of a stores management system including moving to a centralised stores model which already in its infancy is leading to a much more efficient and cost effective control of spare parts with resulting financial and operational performance (more consistent availability of the right spare part) benefits.
3.Continous improvement initiatives in particular Front line asset care, which continue to drive improvement into our whole manufacturing facility. Paul O’Sullivan, Operations Manager, Bulmers Limited

"The CMI Service at Windmill Lane has given us the structures, procedures and data to allow us to improve. We see it as an integral part of our GMP - Good Manufacturing Practice - culture. It introduces standards, measures and provides us with real data to drive out waste and improve performance in our maintenance function. I can honestly say that we have seen direct bottom line benefits as well as ensuring compliance with our quality systems including BRC accreditation". Michael Dunne, Head of Engineering & Site Services, Noon Products, Middlesex

“We have used the Technical Services department of ESS Ltd. for a number of years now. They have worked with us on Asset Management Strategy including evaluating our maintenance organisation, systems and performance. Stores performance improvement was another area of focus where we benefited from their expertise. They are currently working with us on a project to manage all SAP CMMS Master Data, Plant Maintenance and Materials Management. Training in their Asset Management Master Class series is another area we have found to be beneficial and indeed enjoyable. We have found their approach to be practical and actionable and they have a wide range of asset management expertise within their organisation.” Peter Larner, Maintenance Manager, Roche Pharmaceuticals, Co. Clare

"DE Puy, a Johnson and Johnson Company based in Cork, is an FDA regulated manufacturer of orthopaedic devices including hip and knee joints, in a GMP environment. In 2005 we embarked on a project to achieve world-class standards in Manufacturing Equipment Excellence Best Practices. We engaged the services of ESS Ltd. and used their personnel to give technical input in areas such as FMEA, Criticality Analysis, Stores and Stock management, Service Contract Management and KPI’s to name but a few. ESS Ltd. provided us with an excellent service and we were very impressed with the resources they had on site working with us, throughout the year. Clearly, they have the competency, experience and expertise that are required for world-class maintenance management. Our end result was fantastic. We were externally audited at the end of the project and scored a massive 81%, beating the J&J world-class benchmark of 75%. I can honestly say that ESS Ltd. played a major part in our success and would have no hesitation in recommending them to other organisations needing help with their maintenance performance". Micheal Noonan, Technical Services Manager, De Puy Johnson and Johnson, Cork

"Our first experience with ESS Ltd. was when they carried out a maintenance function baseline evaluation here at the Port of Cork. We found their approach logical and practical and it delivered outcomes which were actionable. Indeed, we have used the study as a springboard to introduce new maintenance strategies and introduce initiatives which have resulted in considerable efficiencies.
Work Planning and Control, Measures of performance and Continuous Improvement are just some of the areas that spring to mind where we can see a big benefit.
Training in their Asset Management Master Class series, we have found to be beneficial and indeed enjoyable. We continue to work with them, now embarking on a Condition Based Maintenance program and we are certainly happy that we have benefited from their maintenance knowledge and expertise." Henry Kingston, Maintenance Manager, Port of Cork Company

“Just a word of praise and thanks for the efforts of ESS Ltd. and in particular, their Gareth Conway on line 7. There is a lot of issues on line 7 but myself and my Supervisors life would be harder only for the hard work/determination and quick response ESS Ltd. and Gareth gives us.” Gerry Nolan, Manufacturing Manager, Dell EMFO3

"The ESS Ltd. Asset Management Master Class series provides a very logical and structured approach to anyone involved in maintenance. A course with such methodologies and theories is currently very difficult to find in Ireland. In my opinion it's a must for any maintenance manager" Joe O’ Sullivan, Maintenance Manager, Ivax Pharmaceuticals, Waterford

“I found this course (Best Practice in Maintenance Management for Team Leaders & Supervisors) of great interest as is focuses on a sensible approach to maintenance procedures. In turn it teaches you how to get away from reactive maintenance and explains a way forward by introducing a road map plan, this plan is carried out in stages. Since doing the course we at Kepak have started our road map plan by first reviewing pm's and introducing condition monitoring. We have improved on cost and downtime by taking the approach which was laid out in the course, we are also getting better at utilising our staff. So overall the course in my opinion was the best course I have done to date." Gary O’ Connell, Maintenance Team Leader, Kepak Consumer Foods, Dublin

“I found the course (Maintenance Excellence through Superb Leadership Skills) very interesting & material covered very suitable to anyone in a team leader roll, notes given are easy to refer to on a on going basis, and the course was carried out in a very relaxed and interactive setting. The tutors were speaking with experience of the field, not just theory notes". Mike Greene, Maintenance Technician, Molex
