Dealing with Conflict Resolution & Employment Legislation for the Maintenance/Engineering Leader

As the Manager of technical personnel, you must take the responsibility of dealing with the human side of the job, which means tackling the day to day issues around people management.

The first half of this course deals with Conflict Management and focuses on what conflict is all about and how you as manager/supervisor can lead the way in finding a win-win solution. The second half of this course is designed to provide those who are managing people with a practical guide to Employment Legislation from Recruitment right through to Termination of employment.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

The target audience is Maintenance Team Leaders, Supervisors, Managers, Engineers, Crafts and Technicians. Production managers and shift supervisors will also benefit.

This course is designed for any maintenance practitioner who has responsibility for leading people within their organisation. It is a must for existing Maintenance Team Leaders/Supervisors seeking to develop their people management skills. The course is also highly beneficial for those recently appointed to a Maintenance Leadership position and who require knowledge on managing change.

TRAINER PROFILE

Martin Fitzpatrick is a Customer & Employee Relations Manager in ESS Ltd. with extensive experience across numerous roles in HR & training. Having managed a large maintenance function, Martin progressed to a career in Continuous Improvement in one of Ireland’s leading food companies. He has spent the last number of years in a variety of HR positions including strategic Employee Relations, where he was involved in a major Change Management programme both in Ireland and the U.K. Martin has recently achieved upgrading to a Chartered Fellow of CIPD.
