Electrical Principles Course (Fetac Level 6)
The ESS Ltd. Electrical Principles course is a 6 day course which allows learners to achieve a Fetac Level 6 Component Certification in Electrical Principles (C30165). The 6 day course is broken down into 5 individual units.Unit 1: Electrical Properties
- The aim of this unit is to introduce the participant to the basic concepts of electricity in terms of electron current flow, to the effects of electric current and the relationships between current, voltage and resistance.Unit 2: Electric and Magnetic Fields
- The aim of this unit is to introduce the participant to the concepts of electric and magnetic fields and their practical applications.Unit 3: Electromagnetic Induction
- The aim of this unit is to introduce the participant to the concepts of electromagnetic induction and it’s practical application in relays, transformers and motors.Unit 4: AC Circuits
- The aim of this unit is to introduce the participant to the concepts of alternating current and to examine the effects of capacitance, inductance and resistance in a circuit in terms of impedance and phase angles.Unit 5: Principles of Measuring/Test Instruments
- The aim of this unit is to introduce the participant to the principles underlying and the practical applications of the common test and measuring instruments used in electrical practice. For a detailed description of each unit, please email Brenda O'Sullivan by clicking here
