Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) with Mr. Peter Willmott
ESS Ltd. is delighted to present a one day OEE Workshop facilitated by Peter Willmott, a leading authority on the application of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles, including OEE and a published author on the subject "TPM – A Route to World Class Performance".One of the founding principles of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is to "increase equipment effectiveness so that the equipment is operated to its full productive potential & maintained at that level". To maximise equipment effectiveness, a measurement tool that can help you pinpoint and understand your equipment problems is required, so that you can take the necessary steps to eliminate the problems. The key to this understanding is OEE.
OEE is a crucial measure in TPM that tells you how well your equipment is performing. It links 3 metrics into one %. Namely the time the machine is actually running,(availability) the quantity of products the machine is producing (performance rate) & the quality of good output (quality rate).
By the end of this 1 day OEE Workshop you will:
- Have a thorough understanding of the practical realities of the OEE measurement process for a range of applications and Industries
- Be better equipped to guide & advise your Plant OEE process having dispelled some of the Myths & Realities of OEE-including the difference between Equipment based losses as opposed to Door-to-Door losses
- Have a firm understanding of the necessary OEE Development Framework & how to avoid common pitfalls
- Know the milestones and key success factors & potential inhibitors for design, implementation & sustaining the OEE measurement process
- Have relevant OEE Training & Awareness material to engage the “hearts & minds” of colleagues
- Know some of your options for OEE Software and Cost & Loss Deployment Modeling
Workshop Objectives – to answer the following questions:
- What Impact does Lean Manufacturing & Lean Maintenance/TPM have on our Total Value/Supply Chain?
- Why is OEE a Key Indicator to Measure Lean Manufacturing Performance?
- What Processes/Systems/Disciplines are necessary to Impact the Result – both Top Down and Bottom Up?
- How can OEE be used as a problem solving tool?
- What will Sustainable Improvements in OEE give us?
- What are the Implications regarding Priority, Pace and Resource?
- What are the Key Success Factors and Pitfalls to Avoid?
- What are the Options for Implementing OEE - Including some Software Options?
- What are the Realistic Cost/Benefits & Timescale Expectations?
Workshop Outline Agenda
- Intro’s & setting Expectations for the Day
- Classic OEE
- Some Myths and Realities of OEE
- A Wider Perspective of OEE
- Loss Model Simulation & Demonstration of OEE Software
- Using OEE for Focussed Improvement Activity
- What is a 1% improvement in OEE worth?
- Setting & Delivering a typical OEE Project Timetable
Quotable Quotes from Previous Attendees:
‘…Excellent Course, showing improvements in other plants, plus photos of improvements. The clear implementation methodology was an eye-opener’
‘The Workshop was a very good introduction to the merits and pitfalls of installing an OEE System-lots of good stuff to take back to the Plant…’
‘..Excellent overall-very useful in dispelling some of the myths –I wish I’d brought along some of my staff-Top Class!..’
