ESS Group, an Irish company which specialises in the fields of Asset Management, Maintenance Reliability and Critical Airflow Environments, has acquired Critical Airflow Europe (CAE). ESS was established 33 years ago and is headquartered in Limerick with offices in Cork and Dublin. The company aims to deliver reliable, efficient and sustainable solutions to a range of industries including manufacturing, pharmaceutical, MedTech, Transport, Education and Utilities.

ESS Group now includes three companies – Engineering Support & Services Ltd. (ESS), Eirdata Environmental Services Ltd. (Eirdata), and the newly joined Critical Airflow Europe (CAE). ESS are experts in asset management and maintenance reliability through people while Eirdata are specialists in cleanroom validation, commissioning and compliance, HVAC systems, indoor air quality and building wellness.

Critical Airflow Europe Ltd. (CAE) is the European leader in delivering safe energy efficient laboratory control and critical airflow applications. Its systems ensure environmental integrity and energy efficiency by integrating pressurisation control, temperature, humidity, hazardous exhaust, and demand side ventilation. CAE has successfully completed numerous projects worldwide and has helped its clients save millions of tons of carbon emissions, significantly reducing their carbon footprint.

The company has recently won a number of major contracts in Ireland.  Critical Airflow Europe will upgrade the entire Phoenix Control Systems throughout the Pfizer Ireland Pharmaceuticals facility at Grange Castle in Dublin.  The company is also contracted to supply a fully integrated package of energy management systems in the new €60 million national laboratory for Uisce Éireann in Limerick City. CAE is the exclusive UK and Republic of Ireland distributor for world-leading manufacturers Phoenix Controls, Strobic Air Corporation and Aircuity, and can successfully integrate pressurisation control, temperature, humidity, hazardous exhaust, and demand side ventilation.

Commenting on the acquisition, Bernard Yore, ESS Group CEO, stated, “I am thrilled to officially welcome Critical Airflow Europe into the ESS family.
