The Programmable Controllers (PLC) is the backbone of modern industrial automation. Maintenance Technicians of all backgrounds need to be familiar with PLCs to the level where they can fault find effectively. This course focuses on effective fault finding on PLC controlled systems.
The Omron SYSMAC CPIL PLC system is used for the practical exercises on the course. The programming language being Ladder Logic. However, the fault finding techniques being taught are generic and so are applicable to all PLC systems, Omron, Siemens, Mitsubishi included. Other programming languages such as Instruction List and Function Block Diagram are also considered.
