Lean manufacturing or lean production

often simply referred to as “Lean”, is a production practice that considers the expenditure of resources for any goal other than the creation of value for the end buyer to be wasteful, and thus a target for elimination.

Just in Time (JIT) Techniques Lean manufacturing mean that plant downtime must be avoided wherever possible. The ESS Ltd. resilience study is designed to assess the level of operational risks and develop mitigation actions which will reduce those risks to an acceptable level allowing you to concentrate on Lean Manufacturing.

The ESS Ltd. Resilience Study answers the questions

about where your plant is most vulnerable to failure and where “you are sailing close to the wind.” The assessment uses the knowledge from your front-line operations and maintenance personnel and then develops actions to reduce operational risk. These actions typically involve a combination of design changes, improvements to maintenance programmes, revised change control procedures or enhanced quality assurance arrangements leading to Maintenance Best Practice Procedure and Continuous Maintenance Improvement.
